Subscription Information
Subscribe: RSS | Email Subscription
The web is a busy place. We all know this. Between social networks, blogs, news sites, You Tube, and other internet hotspots, there is a lot going on throughout the Internet and a lot of information to keep up on. Thankfully, I have tried to make the (great) content here at MikeMartinRacing.com as easy for you to get as possible. Essentially, you have two options for subscriptions, RSS and Email. Read more below to find out which one is best for you.
RSS Subscriptions
If you are active on the web, you probably have either heard of, or actively use, RSS Subscriptions. RSS stands for “really simple syndication” and according to Wikipedia, it is:
RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format.[2] An RSS document (which is called a “feed”, “web feed”,[3] or “channel”) includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. Web feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place.
Basically, an RSS feed allows you to subscribe to your favorite websites and blogs, and get all of their new content in one place, without having to actually visit all of the sites. If you read a lot of different content-heavy websites, this technology can be a lifesaver.
However, in order to use RSS feeds, you will need an RSS reader. There are both web based and desktop RSS readers. My favorite web based readers include: Google Reader (my reader of choice, you’ll need a google account), Bloglines (you’ll need a free account) and Newsgator (you’ll need a free account, syncs with NetNewsWire).
As far as desktop RSS reader, my favorites are, NetNewsWire (syncs with Newsgator), NewsFire, FeedDemon, Sage (Firefox Add-On), and BlogBridge.
Once you have your feed reader set up, its time to subscribe. To subscribe you’ll need the URl of the MikeMartinRacing RSS feed. You can do this either by following this link, or by clicking the RSS Icon in the Address Bar. Once you’ve done this, copy the link and paste it into your RSS Reader in the subscribe section. After that you should be getting the latest MikeMartinRacing.com articles right in your feed reader!
Email Subscriptions
The newest subscription option here at MikeMartinRacing.com is via Email. This allows you to plug in your Email, and the latest posts from MikeMartinRacing.com will be delivered right to your Email inbox with no extra hassle, and no extra software.
